Louis was kind enough to get in touch with me by phone in May 2009 to talk about the old days performing at the Mummp teen club in Detroit as the Sandpipers and his association with other vocal groups of that era such as the Shades Of Blue.

31 | This record by Harvey Connell is an excellent medium fast teen crossover doowop piece from Ohio, the year was 1962. In 2004 I heard from a man who actually recorded music with Harvey in his studio in Columbus Ohio in the mid 1960's, a few years after this record. The studio did not make any money, according to him,so it was closed down. Harvey later owned a bar and lived in Mount Vernon Ohio.

The group performed at the Peppermint Lounge and the Wagon Wheel in New York City, according to one of the group members who emailed me in 2006. Ray Davis died young, passed away from cancer in the 1960's.

The Linville girl's older brother was a college dormmate of mine at Central Washington State College in Ellensburg in the late 1960's.
