Has that "teen death song" element with a background similar to some Ricky Nelson records. Howard also recorded this on the Dixie label as Howard and the Darts. Any information on Howard Davis as a singer or his life in general would be appreciated.

I got an email from Mike Seta in December 2004. He is the son of one of the former band members reporting that lead singer Dan Williams was killed in Vietnam.

This song was done by countless doowop groups in the 1950's and 1960's but the original goes clear back to the mid 1930's when it was first composed. Sir Walter was also backed by the Tornados on this record. Any further information would be welcome.

This was also released in Canada as Sparton 1164, leading me to believe he might be a Canadian artist. The Rockin Country Style website notes his passing in 2003.
